LOVE MUSIC HATE RACISM LOGO CUPCAKES
We were super excited and honoured to be part of the Love Music Hate Racism #beautifulresistance this month. Love Music Hate Racism uses the energy and vibrancy of the music scene to promote unity and celebrate diversity through education and events. They have a super simple message:
"There is more that unites us than divides us and nothing demonstrates this more than music."
And just like music, the logo cupcakes we created were vibrant and engaging. They were designed to reflect the exciting branding of the campaign and they certainly stood out. Each delicious cupcake was baked in orange and pink cases with alternating orange and pink buttercream, and of course they were delicious! The branded cupcakes were delivered to London to be part of the #beautifulresistance event.

JOHN MURRAY BLUE PLAQUE
We were commissioned by Sunderland City Council to create a cake to celebrate the cities newest blue plaque commemorating engineer John Murray, who we now know made huge contributions to developing the city. There were a lot of letters to cut for this cake, but we hope you agree the final effect is great!

A NEW LITTLE BAKER

AN EXPRESS ORDER
Baked Cupcakery was excited and honoured to help out TransPennine Express with the Launch of their new franchise on the first of April 2016. What better way to usher in this new era than with lots of cakes! We baked over 6000 cupcakes which features the new top sectret logo. Each one was handed out to lucky customers at stations across the UK, and there were plenty of smiley faces on the platforms!
TransPennine Express Managing Director Leo Goodwin has said that
“This new franchise will lead to a complete overhaul of train travel in the North and Scotland. Over the next four years the customer experience on our services will be reimagined with improved catering, more seats, faster trains, innovative ticketing systems and improved journey times."
We must say that we love the new logo and the updated train livery looks fantasic. The feedback from the event was great and we need to say a big thank you to all the hard work from the Baked team!

OPEN FOR BUSINESS
After an amazing honeymoon travelling Asia, Helena is back in the kitchen mixing up a storm. She and her new husband managed to visit all the places on their wedding cake (which she of course made herself!)
We have big plans this year to take our cake creations to new and exciting heights. There are lots of wedding orders rolling in (so get in touch if you want to save your date!)
We will also be expanding our corporate and printed cupcakes. We can now send them all over the UK, so wherever you are, if you are looking for logo cupcakes or branded cupcakes for your event we are here to help.

NOMINATED FOR THE NORTHERN INDEPENDENT RETAIL AWARDS!
We're delighted to be nominated by our customers for Bakery of the Year in The Northern Independent Retail Awards. It's a bit cliché but we really are over the moon just to be nominated.
The Northern Independent Retail Awards 2015 announced their finalists following an immense response in nominations from the public across England. Baked Cupcakery, Sunderland has been shortlisted in the Bakery of the Year category. We will find out if we have been crowned winners at a glamorous ceremony being held in Manchester.
The awards seek to acknowledge the dedication and successful performance of the public’s favorite independent retailers. As well as recognising the commercial success and achievements of the independent retail businesses in Northern England, the awards will be raising money for the Make a Wish Foundation.

2500 CUPCAKES FOR
VIRGIN MONEY
This month has started as a really busy one! Virgin Money have trusted us with a few large orders but this was great project to get our teeth into! We delivered over 2000 branded cupcakes and cookies for Virgin Money's 20th Birthday as well as a huge 28" presentation cake for Richard Branson to cut. The cupcakes were sent to the Gosforth headquaters as well as across the UK for all the staff to enjoy. We were so excited to see the image of Richard Branson with the cake!
The cupcakes by all accounts went down well and we look forward to working with Virgin Money in the future.
We even made it into the Sunderland Echo. We now consider ourselves famous!

TEA & CAKE PLANET 2014
Tea & Cake Planet was held in Newcastle at the end of June. I chose to create Grey's Monument to feature on the world map made out of cake, which was the centre piece to the weekend. This was such a big project and I was so pleased to finally see it safely on the map. I was even more pleased when I won the gold medal!
